Sony Elevates the Consumer Entertainment Experience at Sony Convention 2011 with the unveiling of its latest 2011 products
Malaysia, 23 Feb 2011 – Sony Malaysia today announced its latest 2011 product line-up at the Sony Convention 2011. Among the new products unveiled are the stunning BRAVIA HX925 Series that goes beyond LED powered by the cutting-edge X-Reality™ PRO engine, the world’s first Full HD camcorder with built-in projector (HDR-PJ30E), and the stylish and performance pack Cyber-shot TX100V Series, a world’s first compact digital still camera features Full HD* video capability, “Dual Rec” (record) technology and 3D Still Image Capture™ mode. Other breakthrough innovations include the expansion of 3D portfolio with a “Double Full HD” 3D Handycam®

Beyond LED with X-Reality™ Picture Engine
Sony’s 2011 BRAVIATM HDTV line include 24 new models from screen size of 22 inches to 65 inches. These models comprises of 17 new LED backlight models with the new X-Reality™ PRO and X-Reality Engine, 11 3D capable models and 20 Internet connected models.
From full HD 1080p Blu-ray Disc, to broadcast HD, to user-generated Internet Video content, processing of incoming content is essential for an excellent picture. To this end, Sony has upgraded the BRAVIA processing power with the new X-Reality PRO and X-Reality Engine digital video processors.
The X-Reality PRO Engine is a two-chip digital video processor that optimizes high definition content, compressed HD signals, standard definition, and other sources including low resolution Internet content. Utilizing a vast database of “ideal” signal patterns developed by analyzing and indexing and enormous library of film and video, the X-Reality PRO Engine compares incoming signals pixel-by-pixel with ideal scenes to display vivid and detailed images.
Found in select models, the single chip X-Reality Engine utilizes Sony’s Intelligent Image Enhancer technology to deliver outstanding picture quality. Incoming video is separated into constituent parts (outline, texture, and color/contrast), and the appropriate image enhancement is added to each part.
Besides offering uncompromising picture quality, the new Sony BRAVIA models also feature seamless Internet connectivity. Whether connecting to a home broadband network via Wi-Fi (802.11n) or Ethernet connection, compatible models offer access to over 18 free and premium movies, video, and music services through the BRAVIATM Internet Video platform including YouTube, Video Detective, Daily Motion and Style.com. A number of the new BRAVIATM models will also have Skype™ embedded for video calls.
Breakthrough Digital Imaging Solutions for Sharing of Great Moments
Handycam®
Creating a new standard in video creation and playback, the exciting 2011 line-up for Sony video solutions include the World’s First Full HD camcorder with built-in projector. A projector is built into the 3-inch LCD panel, maintaining the camcorder’s compact size, and allows video and images to be projected at up to 60 inches (diagonally when projected 3 metres away) onto walls, ceilings, or other flat surface. Stereo speakers with Clear Phase and S-Master digital amplifier produce clear, dynamic sound and when combined with the integrated projector, awhole new way to enjoy video playback without needing to plug into an HDTV is achieved.
Three models of Handycam® camcorders with built-in projectors are available - the HDR-PJ50E with a 220GB Hard Disk Drive, HDR-PJ30E with 32GB of flash memory, and HDR-PJ10E with 16GB of flash memory.
Strengthening its 3D portfolio, the new HDR-TD10E is a 3D camcorder that records in “Double Full HD”. The integrated dual lens system, includes two of each key component - double Sony G Lenses, double “Exmor R” CMOS sensors, and double “BIONZ” image processors. This yields the ability for 3D content to be played back in Full HD 2D automatically on non-3D displays, while 3D footage can be played back without glasses on the camcorder’s crisp Xtra Fine 3.5-inch 3D LCD touch screen.
Cyber-shot®
Sony’s Cyber-shot range continues to advance digital still cameras to make it easy for consumers to get DSLR-quality still images, high quality Full HD video, and stunning 3D photos. Sony’s new 16.2-megapixel “Exmor R” CMOS sensor TX100V is the world’s first camera to include Full HD 1080 50p/60p video capability, 3D Still Image mode for taking 3D images using only one lens and imager and Dual Rec feature for taking still photos during video capture. The TX100V along with other innovative models such as DSC-TX10, DSC-WX7, DSC-HX7V and HX9V, provide excellent low-light performance, 10 frames per second burst shooting, and Intelligent Sweep Panorama features.
Performance and Mobility for Your Work and Play
Also making its debut at the Sony Convention is the new VAIO S Series, a balance mobile PC ideal for business and leisure. Featuring a 13.3 inch screen with slim and full flat design, the laptop offers extreme portability anywhere anytime.
A new addition to the Sony 3D family is the VAIO F Series - a 3D laptop is designed for consumers looking for the ultimate in mobile entertainment and functionality. The F series laptop has a built-in 3D sync transmitter and includes 3D active glasses, allowing viewers to enjoy 3D movies and pictures in full HD 1080p resolution on its 16-inch, high-contrast, and 16x9 widescreen display.
