Big, bold close-ups don't have to mean carrying a big, bulky camera. With this season’s latest Cyber-shot™ digital cameras from Sony, you can enjoy super-zoom performance and detail-packed images with less to carry.
Clearer, steadier high-zoom images from a compact camera
Optics AA - WX Cyber-shot WX100

Making its debut in the Cyber-shot™ HX20, WX100 and W690, an Advanced Aspherical (AA) lens boosts zoom range while allowing a far smaller lens body. The precision optical design adds an extremely thin lens element, increasing maximum magnification without compromising image quality or optical performance. With the WX100, this results in an impressive 10x optical zoom range in a compact camera that’s just 17.5mm thin at its slimmest part.
By Pixel Super Resolution technology (except W690, H90) doubles optical zoom range without sacrificing image quality or resolution. You’ll enjoy detail-packed close-ups – with up to 60x Clear Image Zoom on the HX200V – without the artificial blockiness that mars conventional digital zoom.
Complementing the new cameras’ exceptional zoom performance, Optical SteadyShot now offers enhanced image stabilisation when zoomed-in, both for still and movies. A refined gyro is teamed with optimised processing, adding the right amount of shake compensation for each scene. You’ll enjoy clearer, blur-free stills and videos, even at long focal lengths where camera shake is greatest.
Powerful features to widen creative shooting options
Extra High Sensitivity technology*2 (except W690, H90) expands your photo opportunities, especially in dimly-lit conditions. Maximum sensitivity is now boosted to ISO 12800, giving more opportunities for spontaneous handheld shooting without flash. Thanks to the Exmor R™ CMOS Sensor and high-speed BIONZ processor, noise levels are significantly reduced compared with previous Cyber-shot™ models*3. You’ll see the difference with crisper low-light shots, from atmospheric portraits to interiors.
Spontaneous shooting options are widened further with high-speed autofocus that locks onto your subject in as little as 0.13 seconds in daylight (except W690, H90 and TX20). AF performance is also significantly quicker at 0.20 seconds in dim conditions (for WX100 at 3EV; actual AF speed depends on model and shooting conditions). You’ll be able grab even more of those special moments when other cameras struggle to focus accurately.
Superior Auto Mode (except W690, H90) takes the guesswork out of achieving professional results in virtually any situation. Detecting the current scene and shooting conditions, Cyber-shot™ automatically adjusts exposure and other camera settings for superb images with low noise and high dynamic range.
DSC-HX20V

Cyber-shot
The new Cyber-shot™ line-up is headed by the compact, powerful HX20V featuring the AA lens and packed with advanced shooting features in a stylish, easy to carry body, making it an ideal travel partner. The highly-efficient Exmor R™ CMOS sensor with 18.2 effective megapixels is teamed with the latest BIONZ processor that assures flawless, low-noise images, even in low light. By processing each area of an image to achieve the optimal balance between noise and details, the adaptive noise reduction technology achieves a natural look with reduced noise. Ideal for action-packed scenes, fleeting portraits and close-ups, speedy shooting responses and quick autofocus (approximately 0.13 second in daylight and 0.21seconds in low-light at 3 EV) help you capture more split-second moments.
Other HX20V highlights include 20x optical zoom, AVCHD Full HD 50p video recording for super-smooth footage, artistic Picture Effect modes, 3D shooting and GPS. Advanced manual functions give exceptional creative control over producing beautiful Full HD video and stills.
Also available, the Cyber-shot™ HX10V is an even more accessibly-priced choice for versatile shooting with 18.2 effective megapixels and a 16x optical zoom range.
DSC-WX100

Cyber-shot WX100
Just 17.5mm slim (at thinnest point), the beautifully styled Cyber-shot™ WX100 is the world’s smallest, lightest camera*1 to offer a powerful 10x optical zoom range. It’s an ideal travel partner, covering a huge range of shooting possibilities from wide-angle shots to detail-packed close-ups.
DSC-HX200V

Cyber-shot HX200
With an ultra-powerful 30x optical zoom range and easy DSLR-style manual controls, the HX200V offers big-camera performance with the portability of a compact. It’s a showcase for latest Cyber-shot™ technologies like Full HD 50p video, Superior Auto, high-speed autofocus, Picture Effect, 3D shooting and quick AF speed (approximately 0.13 seconds in daylight and 0.21 seconds in low-light at 3 EV).
DSC-TX20

Cyber-shot TX20
Ultra-slim and stylish, the TX20 is your perfect partner for everyday adventures, from skiing to trips to the beach or pool. Resisting water (to 5m), dust, freeze and drops from a height of 1.5m, it’s packed with advanced Cyber-shot™ technologies in a beautifully slim body.
DSC-W690

W690 range
Slim and refreshingly easy to use, the W690 brings distant subjects closer with its impressive 10x optical zoom lens. Enhanced Optical SteadyShot now offers improved image stabilisation that’s effective with both stills and movies. 360 Sweep Panorama lets you grab exciting all-round images at the touch of a button, while iAUTO takes care of adjusting camera settings for great results without fuss.
DSC-H90

H90 Silver Front
With a powerful 16x optical zoom range and 24mm wide angle, the Cyber-shot™ H90 handles a wide range of shooting situations, from landscapes to frame-filling close-ups. Your creative options are broadened further with enhanced Optical SteadyShot, iAUTO, 360 Sweep Panorama for exciting all-round views and Picture Effect for impressive in-camera image treatments.

Big sensor and bright lens for better pictures in a pocket-sized body

content_detail_strTxt47 Cyber-shot RX100
    Cyber-shot™ RX100 from Sony with world’s first1 1.0-type 20.2 effective megapixel sensor and bright F1.8 lens
  • Capture crisp detail with 1.0-type (13.2 x 8.8mm) approximately 20.2 effective megapixel Exmor™ CMOS sensor and F1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 3.6x optical zoom lens
  • Get low-noise handheld shots in low light with high sensitivity up to ISO 256002
  • Intuitive operation with Control Ring for creative photo shooting
  • Powerful features packaged into sleek, compact styling in aluminium body, thanks to newly developed AA (Advanced Aspherical) lens
  • Shoot Full HD movies with extremely low noise and full creative control
  • Auto Portrait Framing, Creative Style and Picture Effect modes
Travelling light doesn’t mean compromising on picture quality with the new Cyber-shot™ DSC-RX100 camera.
Sleekly crafted in aluminium for strength, lightness and luxurious looks, the RX100 inherits many advanced imaging features from Sony’s α range of A-mount and E-mount camera families. It’s an accomplished partner for travel, portraits or street photography, with impressive picture quality and intuitive, comfortable control options that make the RX100 ideal as a step-up from point-and-shoot cameras. It’s also ideal as a pocket-sized second camera for enthusiasts who want to capture pristine stills and Full HD video while they’re on the move.
At the heart of the Cyber-shot™ RX100 is the world’s first1 1.0-type Exmor CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20.2 effective megapixels. Specially developed by Sony, the sensor has an area that’s around four times larger than the 1/2.3-type imager in regular point-and-shoot cameras. Capturing far more light than small-sensor cameras, it’s the key to beautiful, detail packed images and Full HD movie clips with very low noise.
The larger sensor is partnered with an ultra-bright Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens with 3.6x optical zoom range. In contrast with standard point-and-shoot cameras, the wide F1.8 maximum aperture lets in more light to complement the resolving power of the large 1.0-type Exmor CMOS sensor.
In common with high-performance DSLR optics, the lens features seven- bladed circular aperture. This makes it easy to produce pro-style ‘bokeh’ effects, with subjects in sharp focus against a smoothly-blurred background. The lens also features an Advanced Aspherical (AA) glass element that contributes to the camera’s extremely compact dimensions without sacrificing optical performance or resolution.
Complementing the 1.0-type sensor and lens, the optimised BIONZ image processor maximises shooting responses while assuring exceptionally clean, natural images. It also extends sensitivity right up to ISO 256002(using Multi Frame Noise Reduction), allowing exceptionally clear handheld images in dim light. Speedy burst shooting at up to 10 frames per second (full-resolution) lets you grab split-second photo opportunities, while high-speed autofocus locks onto your target in as little as 0.13 seconds3.
Even if you’re shooting outdoors, it’s easy to see subtle details and tones on the bright, high contrast 7.5cm (3") Xtra Fine LCD. With an extremely high 1229k dot resolution, the screen debuts new WhiteMagic™ technology that uses white pixels in addition to RGB to boost screen brightness.
It’s easy to fine-tune your image with a wide range of manual adjustments, whether you’re shooting stills or Full HD video.
Experienced photo enthusiasts will appreciate the unique Control Ring that surrounds the lens body. Allowing smooth, fingertip adjustment of exposure, zoom, Picture Effect and other functions, it makes versatile DSLR-style creative control over your image easily accessible.
Frequently-used functions can be assigned to a handy Fn (function) button for instant access. Memory Recall stores up to three groups of settings for instant recall – a big time-saver when you don’t want to keep adjusting parameters for favourite scenes.
Just like a DSLR camera, there’s a choice of auto and manual focus modes for even greater control over your image. If you’re focusing manually, MF Assist magnifies your image to simplify fine adjustments. There’s also a convenient Peaking function that highlights sharply-focused areas of the image on screen.
There’s a generous choice of artistic options to expand shooting possibilities for enthusiasts and novice photographers alike. It’s easy to fine-tune the look of your image with a choice of six Creative Styles to suit the scene or your personal preference. Picture Effect offers an inspiring choice of 'in camera' effects that can be previewed on the LCD screen, including Toy Camera, Partial Colour, Pop Colour, HDR Painting, Miniature, Illustration, Watercolour and other (Note: real-time preview not available with all Picture Effect settings).
Shared with the latest α range of A-mount and E-mount cameras, Auto Portrait Framing makes it simple to capture personality-packed photos of family and friends. Cyber-shot™ does all the hard work, automatically detecting faces and cropping the scene to create tighter, pro-style compositions without sacrificing pixel count.
Newly created for the DSC-RX100, the NP-BX1 Type X rechargeable battery features a slim, energy-efficient design to allow up to 330 still shots or 80 mins AVCHD video shooting per charge. Exclusively designed to match the camera, the LCJ-RXA is a stylish ‘jacket style’ carry case with an attractive leather-look textured finish and supplied shoulder strap. Attaching securely to the camera, the case opens to allow easy shooting while you’re on the move.
The new Cyber-shot™ RX100 digital compact camera from Sony is available in Europe from mid July 2012.
1 Among compact digital still cameras, as of June 6, 2012.
2 ISO 12800 and higher settings are achieved through combining Superimposing technology and By Pixel Super Resolution technology.
3 Actual autofocus speed depends on scene and lighting conditions.
4 WhiteMagic is a trademark of Japan Display Inc.
